Getting started

From a fresh install to a working multiviewer in a few minutes.

Install

Download the build for your platform from the download page and open it. On first launch Multiviewer opens a new project with an empty canvas.

Add a source

Open the side panel and pick a protocol, then choose a discovered source:

  • NDI lists every source on the network.
  • DeckLink lists the capture devices and their inputs.
  • Syphon (macOS) and Spout (Windows) list shared textures from other applications.
  • AVFoundation, DirectShow and MediaFoundation list webcams and capture devices.
  • Screen capture lists displays and windows.
  • Test patterns always works, and is useful for checking the output path.

The source appears on the canvas, ready to be moved and resized.

Arrange the canvas

Drag a source to move it, drag its handles to resize it, and use the mouse wheel to zoom. Sources snap to the canvas edges and to each other. The canvas page covers the details.

Send the output

Open Outputs and add one or more destinations. The composed canvas is sent to every enabled output. See outputs for the per-protocol settings.

Save the project

Multiviewer stores the canvas, sources and outputs in a .multiviewer project file. Save it from the File menu, or rely on autosave. A project saved on one platform opens on another; protocols that a platform lacks are kept in the file and shown as unavailable.
